The Elusive Quest For A Ceasefire
The Elusive Quest For A Ceasefire
August 27, 2016 - Kevin Harley
With the announcement of a ceasefire in Syria, that has been negotiated by Russia and The United States, a collective sigh is almost heard from those around the world. America is now knee deep in the war with private contractors now taking a more active role at the behest of The United States. Russia has been intensifying its targeting of rebels and not ISIS. We find ourselves wondering what this negotiated ceasefire will produce?
To simplify the players we have the Assad forces, Russia, rebel forces, American private contractors and ISIS. All of these forces need to come to the bargaining table and have their needs met to some degree. Russia controls Assad and America controls the contractors and the rebels. Allegedly. The Obama Administration has been one massive foreign policy disaster after another. And this is just another failure heaped on that mountain of Obama/Clinton failures.
Let’s suppose for a moment that the ceasefire is agreed to by Russia and the US. What about ISIS? Are we forgetting these guys in the whole scheme of things? Are we pretending that they are going away? And please, Obama, Kerry and Clinton, let’s not hear about how the US and Russia are going to ramp up our efforts on ISIS. What will happen is we will bomb ISIS targets and Putin will target the rebel forces. If you can’t get ISIS to the table, then the ceasefire overall is meaningless.
To shift gears, the tragedy in Aleppo and other Syrian cities is unconscionable. Innocent men, women and children are dying daily. The photo of the young boy Omran, is heartbreaking and brought tears to nearly everyone who saw him. What a horrific situation that Barack Obama created.
Now before everyone cries foul, remember that it was Obama who drew redline after redline threatening Assad. Because of Obama, for the first time in modern history Russia has injected themselves as the real player in the region. America is second fiddle and countries are now warming up to Russia. This is part of Obama/Clinton Arab Spring which has brought so much death and destruction.
Those are facts. The two single handedly destabilized the entire Middle East. Individuals who follow prophesies from the Bible are squirming right now. Rightly so. Each of us should be squirming. We are closer to another World War since WW II. The thing that is so frightening is Obama himself.
His agenda is impossible to piece together. What’s his endgame? The man went to Harvard, so believe me when I say that he has an endgame. Harvard doesn’t teach it’s students to just create a partial plan. He has a plan and that’s what’s so scary. Obama and Clinton went in and completely destabilized the region. He pulled the troops in Iraq out against the Joint Chiefs recommendations and Iraq is now fighting a civil war. Next he dictated that the troops were leaving Afghanistan. When Afghanistan started to fall apart, he backed down. Now, thank heavens, the troops are staying.
His Iraq decision is so bad that there is a surge in Kuwait of US troops. They are preparing for war back to Iraq. Nice move Obama and Clinton. Plus,, reserve troops and regular military troops who have been out of the military for a period of time are now getting letters asking them to reenlist. The country is now on a war footing and there is not a word about it in the mainstream media.
He calls ISIS, ISIL. He and his administration are the only ones in the world who call them this. The reason? It removes Israel from the map. Whatever he is planning, may have irreversible consequences. And with Clinton on the loose, protected by Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Barack Obama, Director Comey and others, we have a real threat that our government at the highest levels have been compromised. That’s not a conspiracy, that's a fact. Look at the evidence supporting my claim and you will find that any reasonable person would agree.
And so, as you watch the ceasefire unfold, let’s all pray for the ceasefire o hold, and for peace. The poor innocent citizens in Syria deserve a break. But if it doesn’t hold, the only hope for these people is direct military intervention by the US, and that, my friends won’t happen. Obama is terrified of Putin.
