Obama The Cowardly Dog

During the election cycle of 2012, President Barack Obama warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a press conference on August 20, 2012.  NBC’s Chuck Todd asked the President about Syria and its chemical weapons.  

“We have to be very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground,” Obama stated, “that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch moving around or being utilized.  That would change my calculus.  That would change my equation.”

Obama then doubled down on his threat and went on and said, “We have communicated in no uncertain terms with every player in the region that that’s a red line for us and that there would be enormous consequences if we start seeing movement on the chemical weapons front or the use of chemical weapons.  That would change my calculations significantly.”

On August 21, 2013, Syrian President Assad did the unthinkable.  He unleashed chemical weapons on his own people in Ghouta, Syria.  More that 1,400 people died.  The United States military prepared for war.  Obama made it clear to the world one year earlier what would happen.  

General Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporter Martin Smith, “Our finger was on the trigger.  We had everything in place and we were just waiting for instructions to proceed.”

The order never came.  Obama and Clinton didn’t have the resolve to follow through on such a brazen threat.  And secondly, he allowed Iran to dictate US foreign policy.  While meeting secretly in Oman with Iranian leaders attempting to strike a nuclear deal, the Iranian leaders made it clear that if the US struck Syria, there would be no deal.  

As a result, the world, and most importantly Vladimir Putin smelled blood in the water.  They knew that Obama did not have the courage or the resolve to follow through on a threat that he made in front of the world.  Now, Crimea is in the hands of Russia.  Eastern Ukraine is being occupied by Russia.  Putin is now active in the middle east attacking our allies, the rebels fighting Assad and Obama gets stared down like a whipped puppy by Putin.

On September 22, 2016, the military revealed that American soldiers came under a chemical rocket attack by ISIS.  The chemical weapon was the same one used in Syria, saren.  The mustard gas fortunately didn’t affect any US troops.  But another redline has been crossed in the ever deteriorating middle east.  

Proponents of the Obama administration might say that we have troops on the ground.  What more do you want?  Considering that now American lives are under attack by chemical weapons, and we know that ISIS has the ability to produce chemical weapons, the United States should get serious about stopping ISIS and put the full force of the military against defeating them.  Airstrikes will not defeat ISIS.  That is clear.  

How many more red lines will Obama allow lawless groups to cross before a chemical attack by radical jihadists supplied by ISIS happens on American soil?  Do we really want to allow Hillary Clinton and the failed foreign policies of Clinton and Obama continue?  

Hillary Clinton already has told the enemy not to fear.  American troops will never enter the battlefield against ISIS.  More weakness shown and exhibited by Clinton and Obama.  America needs to wake up and realize that Hillary Clinton is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people.  The United States needs to be strong and what is right for itself and not what’s in the best interest of donors to the Clinton Foundation.
